About the Presentation
In this session, K'ai Roberts Fu presents the material behind her book, 12 Mis-Steps: How Twelve-Step Programs Trip Up Trauma Survivors. Released May 19, 2026, the book and this talk both center on the specific ways twelve-step programs can trip up trauma survivors. The session draws directly from the book's title and focus, walking through what K'ai identifies as the mis-steps a program built for addiction recovery can make when trauma is also part of the picture.
